Signed up to Horley library this week with my daughter. Laura took us through this process, she had a wonderful demeanour and made us feel very welcome. We’re really looking forward to using the space and services.

Staff at the library are SUPER rude!! especially during summer holidays when holding arts and crafts sessions. I was told to turn up on time for one of the sessions (if not full) to participate with my 4 year old, then wait in the common area to see if a space would be free. We were indeed on time and waited for 15 minutes until I had to follow up with them to see if my daughter could participate. One of the librarians who told me she would call me (clearly forgot to do so) and ran off. The other one just told me rudely I was late to the session. No I wasn't, we were waiting as we were told. She then huffed and puffed her way into the craft room and said 'yeah we have one space free in the corner'.
Seriously if you dont want to work at the library DONT. We all pay council tax and expect to be treated nicely when visiting the library with our kids. Take your personal issues somewhere else. The library is a COMMON area. Be NICE its a basic human behaviour.

Lovely staff and so helpful. I booked an appointment with someone at the library to help me apply for a bus pass for my daughter who has special needs. The guy who helped was called Elliott. Such a lovely and helpful young man. What a fantastic library horley has. Well done 😊

This library is really good.
Firstly, there are a lot of Tom Gates books in the kids sections now (they are really good books for kids.)
Secondly, they have lots of computers.
Thirdly, staff are nice.
And lastly, there are lots of activities for kids.
The only flaw is that there are not a lot of ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ books. But the staff are so compliant that they checked the stocks of every library in the COUNTRY, to try and find 1 BOOK. That is incredibly kind.
4****, close to 5.

Hired one of their meeting rooms yesterday. This is the first time I had been in the 'new' library in Horley. A real improvement on the old tired building.
In the main area, there is plenty of space to browse and plenty of seating to read or work.
Meeting room ideal for what we needed and well equipped with small kitchen station.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Internet not particularly fast but it did the job.

What fantastic service! I was in need of a printer to complete an Amazon return whilst I was in the area in between flights. I was not a member but the attendant was super helpful in getting me logged on to a pc and printer. Im just sorry I didnt grt her name but I was in such a rush. The library was clean, organised and vibrant.

Lovely place to spend an hour browsing and the staff are always really helpful.
As a history teacher I do love discovering new books and growing up here I do love the local history sections and maps. I would like a better range of periods and places in the history sections covered-very Tudors/wwii heavy... All very Henry and Hitler! More diversity of history in the Sociology section (oddly) with some Windrush stories and Ackroyd, Akala and Olusoga in there too. Would be great to have a suggestions box or a list up knowing what will be coming in stock soon/titles to be released. Just often find the newer big sellers tend to get stock elsewhere first so have to wait and pay for cross library loans a fair bit.

A lovely modern library with friendly, helpful staff and a great range of books. Recently reopened after Covid forced its closure. The shelves are a little empty as books are quarantined after they're returned. That said, you can order books easily online or in person.
If you're so inclined, the range of books, magazines, comics and audiobooks available online is great too
